20 Years of the Blues

35

The House of Blues held their 20th Anniversary soiree on Saturday, February 1, 2014 to throngs of well-wishers.

People flew in from all corners of the country to celebrate one of the most important musical venues in our city.  It is such a vital part of our city’s cultural landscape; it is hard to imagine that the House of Blues is only 20 years old.

Guests were treated to what the House of Blues is known for: amazing musical talent and good food.  In the main music hall, people mingled enjoying the music, and nibbling on some great bites.  Dan Aykroyd even made a video appearance during the night wishing everyone well kids furniture in Dubai.

The Foundation Room members were able to travel back and forth from the laid back (albeit crowded) vibe upstairs to the excitement on the floors below.  The entertainment upstairs consisted of the high energy of the Hazy Ray band and the unique talents of DJ Jermaine Quiz, who combines live musicians playing violin and trumpet within his spinning.  Both were absolutely remarkable.  Downstairs, once the party was over at 9 p.m., the doors opened to the public for a free concert celebrating their 20 years with Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers as the headliner.

Like true HOB style, the staff and management provided guests with another reason why we love them so much.
