The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation hosted their annual Almost Fall Bus Crawl Y’all on Thursday, September 21, 2017. The event presented by Capital One Bank Investing featured four unique venue stops that included music, cocktails and bites on this bar crawl. Two large 55 passenger motorcoaches were utilized to ferry guests to the destinations.
The first stop on the tour was Maypop for Asian inspired appetizers and cocktails. Contemporary violinists Wael Elhalaby and Anna Roznowska was the entertainment. The next place was Can Creative Spaces located on the third floor of the Dryades Market building where we were treated to a private viewing and walk through of renowned artist Keith Duncan’s powerful show.
Next up was Urban South Brewery where we enjoyed the soulful sounds of the Gospel Soul Children whose rousing finale had everyone on their feet dancing. Two Girls One Shuck were on hand serving some amazing oysters. The final stop for desserts and coffee was back at the Dryades Market where Joy Clark and Alexy Marti performed.
In addition to the different venues, there were live auctions on the bus. All the proceeds of the evening go to LCEF. LCEF is about strengthening the cultural sector and encouraging creatives to be healthy and sustainable. Healthy means smoke-free bars and clubs for performers throughout the state and Sustainable means having access to loans, grants, professional office space, mentors and business training.
