There are so many things to be thankful for this year. My friends and family, my career, my beautiful babies Magnolia and Dahlia, and my gorgeous city. New Orleans is an amazing place to be for the holidays. One reason being all the festively gay things to do. Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!

 

 

#1. Tuesday, November 24, 2016

Give thanks this week at The Country Club (634 Louisa St.) for their special Drag Dinner. Joining hostess Nicole Lynn Foxx is special guests Latonia Dupree Black, Mercedes E. #2. Wednesday and Thursday, November 25 and 26, 2015

You have not celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday until you have done it the Oz way. Come kick off the start of the holiday season at their pre-Thanksgiving bash. You can start with 1/2 price cocktails for Video Happy Hour from 4-8 p.m. with VJ Kyle D. DJ Tim Pflueger spinning the rest of the night for our fabulous drag show at 10:30 p.m. starring the Ladies of Oz, hosted by Persana Shoulders, and for a night of dancing to the best music on Bourbon Street. On Thursday, Thanksgiving night they open at 6 p.m. So after your family fun and dinner, come on over to dance the night away with DJ Tim Pflueger and give thanks for sexy men at the Thanksgiving Strip Off hosted by Persana Shoulders with special performance by Chi-Chi Rodriquez! #3. Friday, November 27, 2015

Take a swing back in time at a local speakeasy to benefit New Orleans Advocates for GLBT Elders (NOAGE) and Friends at the Roaring Twenties Gala. There will be food, cocktails, a silent auction, and live entertainment from Yisrael, all at Rosy’s Jazz Hall (500 Valence St.) from 7 – 10 p.m. Attire is dressy casual, or better yet, in the style of the 1920s. #4. Saturday, November 28, 2015

The Lords of Leather is having their annual turnabout at Mag’s 940 (940 Elysian Fields) starting at 8 p.m. Come out and see your favorite Lord performing in heels and lip syncing to the great songs of the 60’s. It’s always a treat to see these guys as girls for one night. Don’t miss this great show. Also check out the supporting these “ladies” will be the talents of Elizabeth Bouvier, Vanessa Carr and Summer Rayne. Tickets are only $10.00.

 

 

 

#5. Sunday, November 29, 2015

Come out and support the Krewe of Armeinius at A Well Strung Christmas featuring Varla Jean Merman – Sunday Meet and Greet starting at 7:00pm at Cafe Istanbul (2372 St Claude Ave.) This special show and meet and greet after the show is only available on the Sunday performance of this must see musical Christmas experience and goes to help benefit the Krewe of Armeinius with putting on the ball. Get in the holiday swing while enjoying the talents of the Well Strung boys and get humored by the Armeinius’ 2016 ball host, Varla Jean Merman.
