Good MoPho Cuisine

Mid City has another new culinary feather in its cap with the opening of the hot new eatery MoPho located at 514 City Park Avenue.

Located in an old college book store Chimes (which moved down the road), MoPho is a sleek, open restaurant that boasts amazing cuisine consisting of pho (of course), Vietnamese dishes, slow cooked meat dishes, po-boys and much more.

This new hotspot is helmed by former August chef Michael Gullotta.  The mingling of traditional Vietnamese specialties with a Louisiana twist is inspired.

There specialty bar menu is divine and has a few interesting libations such as the Dragon Lady.  There is an outdoor patio area that oversized garage door can open onto to expand the restaurant in good weather.

Some of my favorites on the menu is the Banh Xeo Battered Shrimp Appetizer and the Slow Roasted Lamb Neck and Beet in Green Curry with Creole Cream Cheese Roti.  For those vermicelli lovers, there is a great selection for you to try.  Their hours of operation are Wednesday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  For more information go to www.mophonola.com.
